Hillside Cottage is a charming character cottage, situated in an absolutely beautiful village in the northern Cotswolds, just outside the popular market town of Chipping Norton. The cottage, which is built in traditional stone, enjoys an elevated and very peaceful position overlooking rolling countryside with nothing but trees, village roof tops and fields in the distance! The quaint Cotswold village also has a weekend farm shop which sells good quality local produce. As you would expect the cottage is totally detached down a quiet track with off-street parking and a wonderful private garden. Inside, the cottage really is a haven of olde England, boasting antique furniture, period beams, an open fire in the sitting room with many books and an ever popular AGA. In our opinion this cottage offers good value for money in a truly idyllic spot!
ACCOMMODATION:
Entrance porch leading into hallway with antique furniture including a classic writing desk.
Cloakroom with WC and washbasin.
A welcoming Sitting Room with very comortable sofa and armchairs, beams, an open fire and fabulous art collection.
Good sized Kitchen/Dining room with a new electric AGA, microwave (with oven and grill), dishwasher, fridge / freezer and washing machine, antique dining table in the bay window providing lovely Cotswold views.
Upstairs:
Bedroom One: spacious room with double bed, Ensuite bathroom with bath, WC and washbasin.
Bedroom Two with double bed,
Bedroom Three with single bed.
Bathroom recently refurbished (2011) with walk-in shower, WC and washbasin.
Heating and electricity included all year. Off-street parking for 2 cars. Starter pack of logs supplied, further logs available at cost from housekeeper.
No pets. No Smokers. Sorry, no children under 10. Friday changeover preferred, please enquire otherwise. Internet available on request and for a small fee, please specify.
Location
Swerford is an attractive village, tucked in a valley close to the market town of Chipping Norton. It is well placed for visiting Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick Castle, Blenheim Palace and Oxford and also within easy driving distance of all the picturesque Cotswold villages. There are several good pubs in the area and excellent countryside for walking and cycling.
