King Johns Barn, is large barn conversion situated in a delightfully rural location near to the villages of Shipton under Wychwood and Leafield. (The barn itself takes its name from the 'King John's Oak' which was said to be a rallying point for huntsmen in the Wychwood Forest!) The property comprises two self contained units accommodating up to 10 people. The larger of the two (The Gallery) has a spacious and welcoming vaulted room with glorious views across open fields. This holiday cottage is likely to appeal to families looking to enjoy open space while having easy access to local amenities.
ACCOMMODATION:
The property has two distinct elements, each with its own facilities, enabling parties to come together in one property but equally enjoy privacy when necessary!!
1. The Gallery
Large Sitting / Dining room with a table to seat ten. Comfortable sofa and chairs TV and DVD with Freeview.
Kitchen, fully fitted including hob, oven fridge freezer, microwave dishwasher
Bedroom One is down two small stairs, with an en-suite shower room, with large walk in shower, WC and washbasin.
Upstairs:
Bedroom Two, a large room with glorious views, with twin beds that can be zipped together.
Bathroom Two with bath, WC and washbasin.
2. Oak Tree
Entrance into Utility Room with washer/dryer.
Sitting/Dining Room with comfortable sofa (sofa bed*) and armchair TV DVD with Freeview.
Dining area with dining table and chairs.
Opening into Kitchen, fully fitted & equipped with cooker and hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave.
Upstairs:
Bedroom One with double bed.
Shower Room adjacent with walk-in shower, WC and washbasin.
Bedroom Two with twin beds that can be zipped together beds to make a large double with en-suite Bathroom with bath WC and washbasin.
Heating & electricity included all year. Parking for several cars. Cots & High Chairs available
Payphone. *Sofa bed available for extra guests for £40 per week, per person.
No smokers. Friday changeover. Pets welcome (max. 2) £20 each per week. Please no short breaks June - August, other periods on approval.
Breakages deposit of £100 (cheque or cash) payable on arrival at the property.
The local villages (no more than 1.5 miles away) have a selection of good food pubs, including the Navy Oak (Leafield) and The Lamb (Shipton). The cottage has good access to local Cotswold locations including Burford, Bourton on the Water, Bibury and Chipping Norton. As well as many excellent local walks, there are many attractions such as Cotswold Wildlife Park and Blenheim Palace at Woodstock within a short dive. Oxford is approximately 20 miles away.
