Whitestones Barn is a magnificent holiday cottage which has been lovingly and carefully restored by its owners to provide a very high standard of accommodation. Much of the original building such as the beams, which date back to the 18th Century, are still visible, while many 'mod-cons' have been sympathetically incorporated into this newly fitted home to create a welcoming and very comfortable holiday retreat. Originally two units and used as 'workers cottages', the cottage is situated in the picturesque village of Steeple Aston (Oxfordshire Village of the Year 2007) which has two recommended pubs, a village store and beautiful church. The village is also within a few miles of Junction 10 of the M40, making it a very accessible spot - ideal for touring the local area or simply relaxing and doing nothing... Heyford train station nearby. Oxford a short drive away.

The property has underfloor heating throughout - pure luxury!

Steeple Aston is an ancient settlement with roots going the Roman times. Today it is a busy village with plenty to see and do. The village has its own shop and Post Office plus two popular pubs, the Red Lion and the White Lion both of which are within very easy walking distance. It was designated a conservation area in March 1988 which means that it is regarded as an area of special architectural and historic interest, which should be preserved and enhanced. Steeple Aston has many keen gardeners, so a walk round the village can provide plenty of horticultural interest. Every year, there is an Open Gardens Day, run in conjunction with the National Gardens Scheme. Walking is in abundance nearby particularly alongside the River Cherwell and canal where there are many wildflowers. Rousham Hall, which is approx 2 miles away, boasts fabulous gardens designed by William Kent - well worth a visit. Furtherafield, but still convenient is Oxford which is approx 20 mins away. Trains to London are at Lower Heyford which is about 3 miles away. Blenheim Palace is a short drive away and for shoppers, Bicester Village is less than 5 miles away.
